I then learned from the dealership that these are Vin Number specific. Q? My options are BMW, Volvo or Acura and somebody told me on the overall Acuras are better.

Thks

TSX or BMW or S40?best antivirus software

BMW and Volvo offer cars that are more powerful than the TSX, but they don't offer cars that are as dependable. The TSX is always on the Consumer Guide lists of best cars to own, and they hold more of their value than just about anything else. They also come very well equipped. Competitors may not be much more expensive at base price, but option up a 328i to the point where it has the luxury features of a base TSX, and the price difference is about 10 thousand dollars. My father drove new BMWs for 16 years, but as his last one needed its 3rd transmission at 60K miles, he decided to try something else. The TSX has about 50K miles now. It has never had anyting done to it. By the same age, the BMW was on transmission number 2, its dashboard had been apart twice, which made it look as shoddy as the level of engineering that necessitated it, and it was getting to be expensive and time consuming to keep on the road. The TSX also gets great mileage, better than my 2007 Civic Si sedan. It isn't the best car for posers, but it offers the bet ride and handling balance in its class and a great ownership experience.

TSX or BMW or S40?firewall

first kiss advice

college students do wear
Latinahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15744641548152550113noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7644098261517270713.post-3368161643374249872010-08-20T17:41:00.001-07:002010-08-20T17:41:28.540-07:00DSP in BMW X5 ? Will that warranty cover fixes as changing abs sensors or like abs module or fixing window washer or somethign like that? also can i buy maintanace plan as well to change oil and etc for free?

Warranty for BMW x5 2002?computer repair

You certainly can. Your X5 is out of its factory warranty by two years and 19,000 miles but you have two options for extended warranty. One is through BMW. They have two programs that'd interest you a, 'Pre-Paid Repair Plan' and 'Pre-Paid Maintenance Plan.' The other is through third party insurers.

It's very similar to health insurance. It can be rather expensive but can really help if a serious problem arises. Typically you select a level of coverage and to what mileage it'll be covered (they usually have deductibles and co-pay like health insurance as well). So you can just cover the powertrain until 80,000 miles or have full coverage until 120,000 (for example). Third party plans are generally not so great for BMW owners. The facilities they use can sometimes be understaffed or undertrained to work with our powerplants. Going with a genuine BMW plan will ensure you always have trained technicians working on your car. You're not going to get ''free oil changes'' with any BMW pre-paid maintenance plan but what you will get is a reduced cost in the long run for oil changes, rotations etc as opposed to paying for them individually. It's a way for BMW to ensure they have your business and a nice way to save you a little money long term.
Latinahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15744641548152550113noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7644098261517270713.post-71511525085992718062010-08-20T17:40:00.001-07:002010-08-20T17:40:26.458-07:00Whats better? I live in San Diego, CA (not sure what is required to pass in SD). The airbag light is on, do you think that will cause my car to not pass smog?

Will my BMW pass smog with the airbag light on?computers

The Airbag light ''on'' means'' that there is a problem with the air Bag. To pass the CA SMOG Test, your OBD-II car needs to have a diagnistic readout made by connecting a special cable to the 16 pin Diagnostic Connector under the dash. The CHECK ENGINE light must do 3 things: It must come ''on'' with the key ''ON'' and engine ''OFF; The CHECK ENGINE light must go off within 4 seconds after the engine starts. The CHECK ENGINE light must stay off during the entire SMOG Check, or as long as the engine is running. A CHECK ENGINE light that never comes on, may need a new light bulb, but the car will fail the CA SMOG test, regardless.

Will my BMW pass smog with the airbag light on?hijack this

I also have a z3, great car isn't it?

At any rate, your car has a computer... simply call around to a parts store and most will have a diagnotics device which will interface with your car and tell you exactly what error is causing your airbag light to come on. If it's not smog related (which, with BMW, who knows...) then it PROBABLY won't cause any issues with registration/smogging.
Latinahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15744641548152550113noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7644098261517270713.post-80690244840438825052010-08-20T17:39:00.002-07:002010-08-20T17:39:36.972-07:00Help 02 bmw 745i W/ 22'; wheels...need wheel plates, also trunk lip, rear window wind deflector?
2002 bmw wheel plates that will fit 22 in rim caliper does stick out

rear lip(spoil;er) 3m tape

wind deflector, like vent shade for back window

email help to krugerjohnny@yahoo.com

Help 02 bmw 745i W/ 22'' wheels...need wheel plates, also trunk lip, rear window wind deflector?need help!!!!downloads

why not get a ford chunderbird holmes
Latinahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15744641548152550113noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7644098261517270713.post-30076485144197358602010-08-20T17:39:00.001-07:002010-08-20T17:39:20.009-07:00Should i trade my 2002 BMW M3 Convertible to the new BMW 3 series Hardtop convertible?
BMW is coming up with the first ever 4 seater hard top convertible.

Should i trade my 2002 BMW M3 Convertible to the new BMW 3 series Hardtop convertible?ducati

THE CHRYSLER SEBRING IS A FOUR SEATER, AMONG OTHERS...ANY BODY AND EVERY BODY IS RELEASING A HARD TOP CONVERTIBLE. Well .. I would say .. ABSOLUTELY .. Hardtop convertibles are AWESOME. I test drove this car and it moves unbelievably and great control. I added about every option possible, not including active cruise control and it prices around 62,000.00 But, the base price is 50,000. Also, it is NOT easy to get from what I am finding. I am having to wait a couple months and ordered it with all options I wanted. But, as far as having them ON THE LOT at dealerships, everything in my area is SOLD OUT. They have a demo, which cannot be sold before ONE year. I have had the Mercedes 320 SLK hard top, and did test drive quite a few other models: Lexus, Acura etc .. and nothing drove like this car. I sure loved it .. :)
no, you shouldnt trade it in, because the dealer will screw you. ''7'' refers to the series. ''40'' refers to the 4.0 litre engine size. (525i would be a 5 series, 2.5 litre engine, etc). I am not sure about the letter designation, but it makes sense.
What gpalmer said, but I think the ''C'' stands for ''coupe''...as opposed to ''convertible''...
in the old days when they used to produce planes they used to number the planes like they do today it has just evolved onto the cars ie:- 7 denotes the class of vehicle and the 40 denotes the engine size and the L is the level of trim

does this answer your question
7= 7 seriece 40 = 4.0 liter engn
The only addition to his comment is that the engine size (displacement) is not always exact. So a 330i may have a 2.8 litre engine vs exactly a 3.0 litre.
First number is series, ie 3 series, 5 series, 7 series etc. Second and thrid denote engine size, e.g. a 540 has a 4 liter engine, a 330 has a 3 liter engine. Sometimes the numbers don't quite match the engine size for aesthetic reasons, they wouldn't badge a car 531 if it had a 3.1 liter engine.
Latinahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15744641548152550113noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7644098261517270713.post-61867747408743468442010-08-20T17:38:00.002-07:002010-08-20T17:38:34.262-07:00Best used BMW 3 series.?
Any of you BMW folks have a suggestion on used 3 series between 2000-2005 for durability?

Best used BMW 3 series.?free anti virus

My vote is for the 328i in the E46 Chassis (2000-2006.) Granted that is what I drive, but I haven't had any problems at all, I mean at all, I just hit 91,000 miles and I haven't had any major service or mechanical qualms. I have driven many, many BMWs and for the most part, they are very reliable, durable machines.

Now, my 1993 (E36) 325i, I was not kind to it. Smoking burnouts, high speed turns, off-camber turns, occasional overevving, sliding and skidding, drifting at times, even a few spinouts and there wasn't anything wrong with the car (besides the driver) even at 162,500 miles.

Although I have been nicer to this E46 328i, winter in Michigan is the season of the drift and slide. I've managed to slide off the road only once (DSC was off, for the record) on a particularly icy day and the car was fine, I was able to even drive it out the ditch.

The 328i is the sportiest of all the E46s, even the 330i (except the E46 330i ZHP, which gave it a good run for sport-factor.) It really is an amazing vehicle. Only recently have I modified it with aftermarket parts and now the thing is almost an M-killer.

My suggestions are as follows:

For sport: 328i or 330i ZHP (Performance Package)

first kiss advice

college students do wear
Latinahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15744641548152550113noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7644098261517270713.post-3105404728426310172010-08-20T17:38:00.001-07:002010-08-20T17:38:16.524-07:00Custom 2000 bmw 323i question?
i have a custom 2000 bmw 323i and since i will sell it soon i dont wanna put a turbo in so i was thinking of putting in 2 turbo whistlers its fast already doesnt really need a turbo so iw as thinking of puttingin 2 turbo whistlers since it has two tips anyone think its a good idea wld it make the car sound god at all

Custom 2000 bmw 323i question?free antivirus download

what do you mean by a 'custom' bmw 323i ?

if you are going to sell it then why would you pour anymore money into it? thats just a waste, because you wont get that money back . in fact, when u customize a veh it actually lowers the value of the car and makes it harder to sell later.

and you want your car to sound like a 'god' ?

ha ha

Custom 2000 bmw 323i question?internet security

me thinks you are a poseur!

Old Guy, SCCA Member since 1978
Latinahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15744641548152550113noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7644098261517270713.post-42468242377945726232010-08-20T17:38:00.000-07:002010-08-20T17:38:00.204-07:00Ford and bmw?
wut would win in a race a 2000 Ford Mustang or a 1999 BMW 318? lets just say there both stock.. which car would win in a race?

Ford and bmw?free antivirus

You would not want to be caught dead in that Ford after 100MPH...

Ford and bmw?internet

IN a straight line on a smooth road? If you just want to get from point a to point b then buy Japanese. The BMW is worth any money you have to put out in repairs.

Should i buy a used bmw - or will i waiste money on maintance?kawasaki

you will no doubt get varying answers on this, but heres my take. german cars are very high quality. they are capable of several hundred thousand miles if properly maintained. parts are expensive. labor is expensive. would i buy one from an auction or used lot? probably not. does your best friends grandmother have a 3 series with 130k on it and all dealer maintenance receipts? jump on it. otherwise, get a honda.
the place you buy it from HAS to show you the history on the car if you ask, don't they?
Well it depends if the car got the regular matainance done on it and had it checked from time to time. As far as I know Bmw are pretty good. If you have to do a lot of mantainance screw it. save yourself a bunch a money and buy a jap car. They got more bang for the buck !
Parts are hard to come by, and are expensive. I am not even sure BWM makes parts beyond 10yrs, so the parts may all be aftermarket. While they are very capable and well made cars, they also tend to have been driven hard and not properly maintained. The 7-series in particular have proven to be troublesome. And overall any BMW is prone to have electrical issues at this age. You could get the same model year Lexus and not have the same worries on repairs as they are darn near bulletproof (especially the LS400).
Latinahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15744641548152550113noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7644098261517270713.post-68398891865438716002010-08-20T17:37:00.001-07:002010-08-20T17:37:28.325-07:00Time to Buy a New BMW?
I have two questions, please all answer with your opinions. I have a nice Titanium Silver on Black Leather 1997 BMW 540i. Its a great car, Rare options such as Factory GPS Navigation, and the Ski Sack. New Brakes all the way around, and in very nice condition. 150,000 miles. The car was gifted to me and im wondering how much i could get for it in a sale. And how much you think a very base model of a 2002 BMW 325i is? I'm hoping to sell mine and pay the difference on a 325i. Ive seen some 3's as low as $14,000. What do you guys think. Thanks a lot.

Time to Buy a New BMW?free spyware remover

i would not sell or get rid of it....but if you do...

make sure it is warranted, you know what you have, with more room in it... (3 series are smaller) but you don't know what you are getting.... plus if they are so cheap why do you think that is? poor dependability, costly repairs etc, check consumer reports....

I would keep the 97 and lower the insurance to bare min. liability and just have two for awhile until you see the 02 is alright and then sell the 97... if you must buy.

Time to Buy a New BMW?ktm

If your wanting to just trade up to a newer year then you could do it but a 540i is an awesome car. If your wanting something smaller that is understandable but this car is sweet. Not unless your wanting to go to a 7 series or something like that. I would say keep it but if not I would take it to BMW and before going look it up on Kelly BlueBook to see re-sale value.
personally i thank you should keep the 540. it still looks good, and has more power then the 325. and is alot roomier. i have two 530's one black one silver one 01 and one 03 both have 90,000 miles on them. great cars. i have never had a proble witht them yet. Run like champs. I have a friend that has a 2001 325 and i had to drive it for a day and i hated it. too small not enough power, although it did look nice. I don't know how old you are but if your going to get a 3 series the only two worth getting is an m3 or a 330. stick with the 540. If you ever wanted to spice it up change out the front and rear bumpers and put HID headlights and fog lights in it will look great. And as a gift i'd take it. Way better then the 325 although it the 325 will have less miles... Right??? i say it will have around 60000 at least. dude its up to you. they are both great cars. i have a BMW and land rover shop and we've seen it all...
Wow, you have mentioned two nice autos there.
Latinahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15744641548152550113noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7644098261517270713.post-34995771950968543652010-08-20T17:37:00.000-07:002010-08-20T17:37:12.591-07:00Audi A8, bmw 7series, MBZ S series, Maserati?
I can't decide which one I have to go for... attracted to A8 for its 4WD, but hate the GPS system, BMW for its used car value and populartiy, MBZ for MBZ it is....Maserati for its design outside %26 inside... Which one should I choose.. I know it's a stupid question to ask but.. pls somebody be my help..

Audi A8, bmw 7series, MBZ S series, Maserati?free spyware

You are all over the map. Who is going to help you when you bring up mid range production cars and try to compare them to limited production specialty cars like the Maserati.

I am a Mercedes owner and fan and would always recommend this Marque for the service and the quality that has been uncompromising for over the long run. BMW and Audi are the latecomers and offer some good products but it is personal choice when you spend the money and buy the product. Research them all and then pick out the one that suits your needs the best.

Audi A8, bmw 7series, MBZ S series, Maserati?live update

Audi A8, BMW 7-Series, MB S-Class are all good choices. Add to these Lexus's LS as Hozb718 suggested and choosing gets very hard. You should definitely test dirve all of these to get a better feel before you place your bet. Speaking of which, I recommend you look into getting your next car at the auctions. Dealer auctions have better selling prices, and while they are for licensed dealers only, there are ways to get in on the auctions, without the complications of becoming licensed. For example, http://www.motobidia.com/howitworks.asp is an online car auction site that offers nationwide selection of late-model high-end used cars from dealer auctions, with free membership and free car shipping in the continental US.
BMW 750Li is your best choice. It has a very fair price and considering free maintenance it's a no brainer.
As you mentioned 4WD one can't go far wrong with a Subaru. When it comes down to a car actually being useful a pick between Impreza, Legacy and Forester is a good bang for the buck, no pun..

Over here the WV Golf has the best second hand value but I haven't seen a used one for sale in a long time.
Look up the resale values of each then rank them in order for style then average it out to the one that fits for you. Also the new Lexus LS is pretty hot
Latinahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15744641548152550113noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7644098261517270713.post-21124358157746900852010-08-20T17:36:00.003-07:002010-08-20T17:36:57.414-07:00What is maintenance coverage from BMW?
What is covered under ''maintenance coverage'' from BMW for a BMW certified car that some dealers offer you?

What is maintenance coverage from BMW?hijackthis

It's scheduled maintenance. Basically, everything but tires and gas. Your brakes go out, they replace them. Scheduled oil changes are free. Even windshield wipers.

BMW's maintenance program is the most comprehensive one out there, and it might be the only one left. It's particularly notable because brakes and windshield wipers are covered. That's normally a ''wear and tear'' item that other manufacturers refused to cover (like Mercedes back when they had a maintenance plan).

I hope it's a BMW dealer that's offering you a ''certified'' car. How would he go about finding this rental, and if you're unsure about how he could find it, what would you do in order to find this car (if you ''needed'' it).

Car rental (BMW Roadster)?internet security 2006

At your cousin's age (you said he was going to the prom), your chances of having any company willing to rent him any luxury/sports cars are slim to none. (assuming if you can find them).

You did not specify where you lived. If you live near a big city, your chances are better at locating a speciality rental company.

I know Herts has speciality rentals for Ford vehicles (Mustangs...etc) but my first paragraph applies.

zipcar.com has BMWs, but only the 3 series sedans, and only at select locations... your cousin's age is also going to be a major problem here.

Call around, Google ''BMW rental (your city/state)'' and see what you can find...

Here's the thing though... I know proms are THE EVENT for guys your cousini's age now. But think about it, what is the logic behind trying to rent a luxury/sports car to drive if your family don't currently have one? Is it to show-off that you can drive a rental roadster (sounds a little shallow don't you agree)?
Latinahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15744641548152550113noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7644098261517270713.post-12468933559497370532010-08-20T17:36:00.001-07:002010-08-20T17:36:25.019-07:002003-04 infiniti g35, or a 2002 bmw 325i?
im getting my first car and my parents told me to get a audi, a bmw, a mercedes, or a infiniti, but i only like BMW's and infinitis. so the question is this, i, a lil confused, which will be better a 2002 bmw 325i with 50k miles, or a 2003-04 infiniti g35 sedan or coupe with 60k+ miles?! im lookin for sumtin safe, but yet sporty. it needs to last a good time also. thanks in advance!

2003-04 infiniti g35, or a 2002 bmw 325i?internet security

Must be tough having to decide between different expensive luxury cars.

2003-04 infiniti g35, or a 2002 bmw 325i?network security

audi and bmw are electrical nightmares. infiniti is a pimped nissan. since it's your first car get a camry or honda.get a new one. why buy some elses problem?
Go for the Beamer! I have a 2003 325i, and its been flawless. I have heard of electrical problems, but I think they run in the 5 series. I've never had a problem, nor have 2 of my colleagues who have the same car. Also, BMW pays for all maintenance and service -I think up to 4 years/50,000 miles, so you can be pretty sure the car was probably taken good care of. The Infiniti is nice, but the BMW ride (pick-up, sharp handling) is far superior. Also, the BMW will retain a higher value, once you go to trade or sell in the future.
Latinahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15744641548152550113noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7644098261517270713.post-9619298807469346652010-08-20T17:36:00.000-07:002010-08-20T17:36:09.892-07:00Salary 4 BMW auto tech?
I live in TX %26 want to know the salary range for a BMW(or even Cadillac) auto technician roughly in the DFW area.

Salary 4 BMW auto tech?internet

Its the same as any auto tech 35 to 65 a year.

Salary 4 BMW auto tech?network

They do pretty well if they are good.
