First car! bmw e30-nissan 240sx-rx-7 witch one?auto protect

My first car was a S13 1990 240sx hatchback, awesome car pretty quick, handled amazing and was really reliable. I have also owned a 91 RX7 GTU it handled about the same but if you don't know much about rotarys or the past maintaince you can be in for a huge repair bill to replace the engine when the apex seals give out, but they are a blast to drive, there is nothing like revving a rotary up to 8000rpm, but there is little power before you hit 4000rpm, the 240 is much better in the low end power department, also RX7 get horrible gas mileage, I can't stress that point enough! BMW are awesome german cars but, your insurance will be very expensive, when it breaks down parts are outreagous, and if you have a mechanic work on it expect to pay $100-$125

dollars per hour, the same is true with the RX7 most mechanics won't touch em and ones that will charge a premium. If you get the 240sx i would recomend getting a 91 or newer thats the year they switched to the dual overhead cam 16 valve engine. Bottom line get a 240sx you'll be glad you did it is the most practical, and will have the lowest cost of ownership, and insurance. If you must get the RX7 make sure to have a compression test don (lead and trailing) not sure if you know what that means but a compression test will tell you a lot about the condition of the engine and how much life it has left in it.
