It's scheduled maintenance. Basically, everything but tires and gas. Your brakes go out, they replace them. Scheduled oil changes are free. Even windshield wipers.
BMW's maintenance program is the most comprehensive one out there, and it might be the only one left. It's particularly notable because brakes and windshield wipers are covered. That's normally a ''wear and tear'' item that other manufacturers refused to cover (like Mercedes back when they had a maintenance plan).
I hope it's a BMW dealer that's offering you a ''certified'' car. A non-BMW dealer can't certify a car, altho they can prolly sell one with the warranty still in effect.
