Range rover bmw x5 engine swap?

i am thinking of buying a range rover, i really want one....but everyone says its not a good buy....what if i do an engine swap with a bmw x5 3.0 engine? would it still be a problem? would the power and torque be too less for the range rover? At the end of the day should i even get a range rover? I am looking at 1997's, I drove a 4.0 and its seemed a bit sluggish for the pickup....but it drove fine...are they all like that? Thanks for your time

The older Ranger Rovers already use sourced BMW engines on the 2002-04 models a 4.6 V8. I think the newer 2005 + Jaguar sourced 4.4-litre V8 and supercharged version of the 4.2-litre V8 will out perform a BMW 3.0 V6.

The engine swap would be quite expensive on a1995-2002 model as well . it is true older Range Rovers had issues and are quite expensive to repair.
