All BMW's prior to 1996 were LSD. In 96 they switched to the open differential in their cars except for the M series.

If you are willing to get under the car you can check it for yourself. On one side of the diff cover you will see a small aluminum tag with a number on it. Number tells you the ratio, and if you see a letter L next to the number that means it is LS.
