i scanned my 92 bmw 325i at the bmw shop and they told me that i have 2 fault codes: DIS ignition system fault code on cylinder 1 %26 6. what does this mean? ive changed all 6 coil packs, spark plugs, fuel flter and regular maintenance. the car seems to hesitate when accelerated, sometimes misfires at higher rpm, and intermittenly shakes at above speeds of 50. any help?

Have you check the compression? The air/fuel ratio might be off due to some problems. Have it checked and go from there. How long has it be going on for? Does your car give off a sweet smelling white smoke? If so you might have to change your head gasket as well or worst case scenario your engine head is cracked like mine a few years back. Hope this helps a little.

Check the ignition timing sensor
That's a tuff one. I would have to look at it. I would check over everything. Something is not right.
I had similar problems about 15 years ago on a 1991 325iC (One of the most solid cars I've ever owned). If I remember correctly there was actually a factory recall around the time that fixed the problem for me.
For some reason I thought it had to do with the exhaust system.
Anyway, search the web for factory recall info. for your year and make.
