Which one to buy? 2001 bmw 325i or 2001 Audi S4A?

Both are in excellent condition. 70k. Price for bmw is US $ 14000 and Audi is 9000. BMW comes with 2.5ltr and Audi 2.7 ltr with 250 bhp, all wheel drive, 6 speed manuel. I am confused, please advice...

The BMW is marginally more reliable than the Audi, but in every other category, the Audi is a better car. BMWs have great handling, but the B5 S4 has a tight ride, and AWD, coupled with the torque that 2.7t produces, is a blast. I had a 2002 S4, and it FELT faster than an M3 (though it wasn't) because of all that torque planting you in your seat.

With S4s, the turbos typically go at around 75K miles, particularly if the car has been modded. When you test drive it, listen for excessive whine. Electrically, neither car is great, so be aware you may have to deal with some issues with either. Both drive trains are solid - 70K miles isn't excessive for either. Audis DO depreciate faster than BMWs, but by buying used, someone else has eaten the majority of that, so it actually makes the Audi a better buy.

And stay away from Volvos if you care at all about how your car performs.

Yeah BMW's hold value more, but the Audi would be more fun in my eyes. What I really like about Audi is that they have AWD. I'd like to suggest looking a the Volvo C70 turbo. I know you didn't mention them, but they compete with the BMW and Audi. I remember I test rode a 2002 Volvo C70 and it was very fast. Good Luck!
Audi if you want the AWD. Otherwise go with the BMW.
BMW is the better car and has a higher resale value...that explains the price difference.
Go for the audi. You get more for your money and it is a great car... Good Luck!
