BMW is 6-7 yrs old. Stuff is gonna start to break- and then comes the $$$$, the camaro is also getting there 4-5 yrs so stuff will also start breaking and wearing out such as brake rotors, struts, calipers, etc. Much cheaper to fix, and the camaro is much sexier than a 2000 BMW- ugly year!!!! Just forget the Scion
Comparing these two specific cars just isn't possible. The BMW 328Ci is more of a luxury "sports car" while the Camaro Z28 is an all out performance vehicle. The 328Ci comes with a 2.8 Litre I-6 that pushes 193 BHP and 206 FT/LBS of torque. The Z28 on the other hand comes with the 5.7 Litre LS1 V-8 that pushes 310 BHP and 340 FT/LBS of torque. The BMW obviously has the better ride and comfort amenities (smoother ride, better leather interior). The Chevrolet will have a cheaper maintenance schedule over the life of the two (only because the BMW is foreign and the parts have import taxes and tariffs on them). A BMW will hold its value much better than a Chevrolet. So it really depends on whether you would like more of a luxury "grown up" vehicle or more of a race inspired "live like there's no tomorrow" vehicle (unless you are into vehicle customizing, then you can turn that luxury vehicle (BMW) into a finely tuned racing machine (with the help of a supercharger, boring the engine, taking out the auto tranny and inserting a manual, and quite a few more expensive mods), but all of this takes money and time). So stock, I would buy the BMW if I was looking for a luxury vehicle that has a sporty look to it, but would probably buy the Camaro if I were looking for performance.
The Camaro hands down. The BMW will cost an arm and a leg if it breaks which they always do the camaro will be alot cheaper to maintain. Just check your local auto parts store for a starter for the cars and you will see the price difference
